THE SYNOPSIS. . .

SPIDERMAN IS A SUPERHERO WHO IS SYNONOMUS WITH LOSS. His parents, Uncle Ben, Aunt May, Harry, his best friend, Gwen Stacy, the love of his life— the list went on. Number Eight Hargreeves of the Umbrella Academy— or, to the public, 'The Guardian Angel'— could relate. She lost her mother before she could even have proper memories of her. She lost her childhood to a coldhearted man who called himself 'father.' She lost the love of her life, Five, at the tender age of fifteen. She was responsible (or so she was told) for her brother Ben's death— the list went on. 

PETER PARKER WAS A MAN WHO COPED WITH GRIEVING FOR HIS LOVED ONES. The only thing he knew was to keep going despite the heartache, despite the pain. It never got easier to lose someone you loved; the hole in your chest just got bigger and bigger until it threatened to consume you. Sometimes, he was almost willing to let it. But then he would find a glimmer of hope in the mean streets of New York: an old lady spending the last of her savings to feed her cats, a perfectly captured sunset through the lens of a camera, people looking up from their daily lives to watch their friendly neighborhood Spiderman swing through their streets, knowing that they were safe because of his presence. That spark was enough to keep him going in the face of adversity: knowing that somewhere, for some purpose, there was always a reason to fight.

In much the same way, Alexandra 'Number Eight' Hargreeves kept going after countless trials. When she lost the boy she loved, she held on by creating a figment of him in her head. At the loss of her brother, she survived by coming up with a plan to escape the hellhole she called home. Even at the end of the world, she found a way to continue on by building a new life for herself in a different timeline. So, when Alexa and her siblings lose everything— even their powers this time— once more, she refused to give up. She found joy in the small things (like having the life she'd always wanted with the man she loved, who hadn't been as lost as she'd feared) and kept her purpose at the forefront of her mind: protecting her family, whom she loved so dearly. She vowed that they would all make it through this timeline, too, by hell or high water.

Authors spend many hours working on chapters for free (because we (usually) love to do it!); doing this diminishes their dedication to create unique characters and plots.
